We&#8217;re here to help! It&#8217;s really quite simple. The rule you need to remember is that in a three-letter monogram, the last initial is the most important one. It takes center stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three-letter monogram for one person<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A monogram can have any number of letters, but the most common one we see is the three-letter style. As mentioned above, the last initial takes the center position, and is often slightly larger than the two letters that flank it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The left letter is the first name initial. The right letter is the middle name initial.  So it&#8217;s: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First initial &#8211; Last initial &#8211; Middle initial<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below, we see our Classic Monogram style on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.embossedgraphics.com\/Delavan-Monogram-Note---Embossed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Delavan Monogram Note<\/a> for Danielle B. Hanke. No problem! The rules are flexible. You can use a two-letter monogram. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, the first spot is given to your first initial. The second spot is given to your last initial. The wife&#8217;s first name initial goes on the left.  The husband&#8217;s first name initial goes on the right. For a same sex couple, they can choose to order their first initials alphabetically, or however they want to organize them, with the middle initial being their shared last name, according to this article in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/07\/24\/fashion\/weddings\/with-gay-weddings-come-etiquette-questions-social-qs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Times<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happens when spouses don&#8217;t share a last name?
